A Fool's Game is a dark farce about identity & illusion; a world of make-believe. But it's serious business.

The rule is: everyone must play. The objective is: don't get caught.

The only way to end the game is to escape.

Whilst the players have their fun, an insidious power makes fools of them & an irrevocable act ensnares one character as another silently vanishes.

There could be a way out, but will anyone think to look?

If they do, will they dare to see?

In 2019, a 20-minute excerpt of the play was performed at the WriteTrack scratch night at The Palace Theatre, Mansfield. In July 2020, it was due to be debuted as Connecting Creatives' first production on their new writing scheme.

With the restrictions of the pandemic, we were able to undertake an online R&D with a group of professional actors, which resulted in philosophical exploration of the themes, a full rehearsed reading and some incredibly insightful discussions surrounding the issues of identity and mental health.

Owing to COVID-19, the project is on hold until we are confident that we will be able to produce a regional tour for a live audience, along with the intended series of community-based workshops.
